Why wait til Thanksgiving to see the ads—checkout the black friday lists on line. I really like BradsDeals.com. Toy Clutter Solution

clean up after your kids

All year long our kids leave toys and things throughout the house and we end up picking them up. To help our kids and our wallet we collect them and place them beyond the reach of the kids and hold them till Christmas time.

The large box is then wrapped with all the kids' names. The now actually ask for their toys back as part of their Christmas list. An added bonus is that some lovely toys are forgotten and become more interesting again when regifted to the child that owns them.

Charming Charlie Has Great Deals

I found a great deal at a store called Charming Charlie while in St. Louis visiting friends and family.  We also have one of these stores in Lafayette, LA, that has fantastic deals.  I wanted some of those larger bracelets and got 2 of them for $1 apiece!!!  Yay!  What great souvenirs!

Editors' Note: Charming Charlies has locations in 19 states. Find a location near you.

Cut The Card Impulse

If you need a little more incentive to minimize impulsive credit card spending, just go to a garage sale or two. We just hosted one as a fund raiser for our scout troop. You would be amazed at the number of discarded items that were barely used or brand new.

Planned Giving

We have a manila folder that we save charity appeals in. At various time during the year and in December, we sort them out, and decide which ones to support. We review how much money we've set aside and divide it up as we are able.
