Now I'm Cookin!

computer screen with plate of food

Being a software/computer driven person, I stay away from pen and paper solutions.

I found a shareware program that allows you to create a database of recipes that are searchable. You can plan a set of meals for a specific time period, and it will generate a list of everything you should buy. You can even input coupons and store pricing, and it will generate the cost of your shopping list. The program is called “Now You’re Cookin,” you can find it at http://www.ffts.com/nyc32dl.htm (it’s for PC users only). They have a library of recipes that you can download or you can input your own.

Is this free? How do you use it?

I downloaded this "freeware" & it says you have to register it in 60 days, which appears to cost money.  Also, there are not very many recipes on this program.  Am I missing something?  Are you supposed to input your own recipes?  I'm not sure I'm understanding how it works?

Thx

Things Change

Sounds like things change, this tip was submitted several years ago. Try the website mentioned below.

I use the one at kraft

http://www.kraftrecipes.com

I can customize to add my own grocery items.  and the recipes aren't half bad either

Here's a really cool recipe place

www.food.com is also way cool, it's free & has billions of recipes. It used to be called recipezaar but I think they were bought out. It also used to cost $30.00 but now it's free.

You can add your own recipes, give you nutritional breakdowns and people can review your recipes too. I've been a member since 2006 "boy named sous" is my ID there. They also have a great community there, but I really haven't had the time to join in their contests and things.
