Our son Joe works at a local Baskin Robbins ice cream parlor. He wanted us to let you all know that on Wednesday, April 28 (from 5 PM to 10 PM) Baskin-Robbins locations nationwide are hosting a 31 cent scoop night to benefit America's firefighters. The Baskin-Robbins Foundations is donating $100,000 to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. It's a great, inexpensive way to have a fun night out and an even greater way to honor some brave and self-less men and women who protect us every day of the year.

Joe told us that at his location, people start to line up about an hour before the event starts. There is a limit of 3 scoops per person. You can expect long lines and great ice cream. Just be sure to leave a tip for your servers — their arms get mighty tired on 31 Cent Scoop Night.
