What have you done to teach your kids to earn and manage money?

teaching kids about money isn't kids stuff

What have you done to teach your kids to earn and manage money?

We are working on a new book about teaching kids to manage money. We believe that financially un-trained children could cost parents their retirement savings. And when we say kids we mean kids of any age. We're regularly hearing stories of adult children draining their parents' retirement savings with requests for financial bail-outs.

Will you share your story? We're looking for real-life solutions from real-life families. What have you done with your kids that has been successful when it comes to teaching them to work, save money and spend it wisely?

Our book is divided up into the following age categories.

  • 0 to 5
  • 6 to 11
  • 12 to 17
  • 18 to 22
  • 23 and older

When you share your comments below, please be sure to indicate the age range your description applies to.

Answers will be reviewed and considered for possible inclusion in the book (we can't guarantee every submission will be used).

If you want to, please leave some method of contacting you (email or phone), to clarify what you've written, if we're needing more information. If you share something of a personal nature we will do our best to protect your identity. Our goal is to help families improve their financial future and your input will surely help.
