John (Son #1) Born: 1983. Works full-time as a technical engineer, producing events and running sound and lighting. Eagle Scout 2001. AA in Criminal Justice. Loves off-roading in his Toyota Tacoma.
Becky (Daughter #1) Born: 1985. Works at Barnes & Noble helping people connect with great books. Earned the Congressional Award Gold Medal in 2004. AA in Equine Science. Loves anything having to do with horses. Loves driving her Toyota Tacoma — although she likes to keep it on the road hauling horse stuff.
Roy (Son #2) Born: 1989. Eagle Scout 2006. Loves everything military. Married to Loren in November 2009. Currently serving in USAF Intelligence (in training)
Joe (Son #3) Born 1992. Loves to write and read. Playing baseball is his passion. Earned Eagle Scout in 2008. Attends Southwestern College in Phoenix, AZ. Business Administration major. Plays baseball for Southwestern (2nd base and outfield).
Abbey (Daughter #2) Born 1994. Involved in a 4-H clogging club, plays volleyball and is attending Scottsdale Community College for dual High School credits.
Family Facts  
Debt Hate it with a passion. If we don't have the money we don't buy. Don't have any credit cards!
 
House Paid off our first house in 9 years on an average income of $35,000. Our current home has 5 bedrooms and is set on 3/4 of an acres with a citrus orchard.
Location We live in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Groceries We spend an average of $350 per month on groceries to feed our family of five. $70 per person. The average family of four spends about $800 per month ($200 per person). We shop one time each month.
Cars We have always purchase pre-owned cars and paid cash for them.
 
Kids & Money We've developed a MoneySmart Kids system to teach our five kids to earn, save and spend their money wisely.
Pets Two big German Shepherd dogs and five Box turtles. In the past we've had lots of hamsters and two noisy parakeets.
