The Do Something Day

This is a cute story that chronicles the day a little boy wanted to run away from home. But thank goodness, he lives in a small town where he knows everyone. This particular day everyone in his family is involved in preparing for the fair they will be attending the following day. They are all too busy to play with him or even pay attention to him. As he walks through town, he takes time say good-bye to several of the shop owners. Each one has a simple job for him to do and rewards him with a going-away present. In a few hours his arms are full of wonderful things he has earned. By the end of the day he decides to head back home. A great story with a wonderful ending that kids will love to hear over and over.
