Caleb's Colt
This is an awesome Easter Story about Christ’s death and resurrection. The story is related through the eyes of two young boys as their lives are turned topsy-turvy. Caleb’s young and stubborn donkey colt is requested by two men to transport Jesus into Jerusalem. Caleb and his cousin Daniel agree to deliver the donkey to Jesus. Their trip to Jerusalem is comical as the donkey’s disagreeable personality creates a multitude of problems, until he meets Jesus. The boys follow Jesus’ days from the triumphal entry to his visit to the small town of Emmaus after his resurrection. The illustrations are wonderful and the story will make young and old alike reconsider the powerful impact of Easter. Of course it is religious in nature, but it is not at all preachy.
