The Kingdom Keepers

Since our daughter Becky works at Barnes & Noble, and many days she works in the kids department, she gets to preview a lot of new books, then buys and brings the best of them home.

This book was published in 2005. Our younger daughter, Abbey says this is an awesome mystery, but does have a few scary parts, so shouldn’t be read by anyone younger than 10 years old.

The story is about the adventure a group of kids have when they find themselves in Disneyworld after the park is closed. Their mission is to save the park from a bunch of evil characters, embodied by Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, who want to destroy it. The dolls from “It’s a Small World” climb into the boats, audio-animmatronic pirates from “Pirates of the Caribbean” ride travel through the park in cars from the Buzz Lightyear ride. It’s fun and suspenseful at the same time. Our kids say that after reading this book, you’ll never view the ride “It’s a Small World” the same way.
