May 1st is special
For the past 28 years May first has been special for us — it was on this day in 1982 that Annette and Steve said I do. Since we said "I do" we've been saying "We Don't" to debt and paying retail. And our anniversary celebration was no different.
It just doesn't seem like we've been married 28 years — we can still clearly remember our wedding day, the day our first child was born, moving from our apartment to our first house — it just can't be 28 years. We're still laughing, loving and living life to its fullest (maybe just at a little slower pace than in 1982).
We went out to dinner at the Bamboo Club* and had a great oriental meal — using a 2 for 1 coupon of course. Then we drove 11 miles to Fountain Hills to see the Fountain Hill Community Theater present "Country Jubilee." It was a tribute to country music that was held in Fountain Hill Park near the famous fountain. The concert was FREE! (They are presenting it again on Sunday May 2 at 8 PM). We discovered the event while looking through our Entertainment Book at different theater's offers for 2 for 1 tickets.
The best part of the whole concert was holding hands as they sang the song, Could I Have This Dance For the Rest of My Life.
Here are some photos we took at the concert:

Getting away for a night out doesn't have to be expensive to be memorable.
