Great Auction Savings

We love eBay, especially when shopping for Christmas presents.

We've stumbled upon some great deals by searching for items we want, using mis-spelled words.

Why? Because some people who post on eBay are prone to typographical errors. If you are selling a book called, "America's Cheapest Family," But mis-spell "Cheapest" as "Cheapset," people searching may not find your listing.

That's bad is you're the seller, but good if you're a buyer looking for a popular item. Why? Because fewer people find it and bid on it. As a result, the selling price will be lower.

We found a web site that searches for mis-spelled items on eBay. It's called AuctionBloopers.com

Type in what you're searching for and it will also search for common mis-spelled versions of the word. Give it a try — you might just get the bargain of the century.

To read about more of our eBay secrets, get our September 2004 back issue which contains an article titled "eBay in your PJ's."

You can order our back issues for $2 each or have access to all of them if you become a paying website subscriber.
